The Seattle Mariners and Mitch Garver have agreed to terms on a two year, $24 million deal, per Jeff Passan on Twitter.
Thus the Texas Rangers see the departure of another member of their 2023 World Championship team. Garver put up a .270/.370/.500 slash line in 87 games for the Rangers in 2023, primarily as a DH. Acquired prior to the 2022 season from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Ronny Henriquez, Garver saw his 2022 season cut short due to injury, but rebounded to have a big 2023.
I wrote earlier this month about Garver’s ALCS Game 6 home run that seemed to be a turning point in that series.
