ANAHEIM -- The Rangers' Joey Gallo hit a home run to match the occasion Tuesday, crushing a booming shot to center field to give him 40 home runs for the second consecutive season.
Gallo delivered back-to-back 40-homer seasons for the fourth time in Rangers history. Alex Rodriguez did it over three consecutive seasons (2001-03), while Rafael Palmeiro (2001-02) and Juan Gonzalez (1992-93) also did it. Gallo and Palmeiro are the only left-handed hitters to accomplish the feat.
Gallo also became the third American League hitter to reach 40 home runs this season after the Athletics' Khris Davis (46) and the Red Sox's J.
