ARLINGTON - There is a difference between aggressiveness and recklessness on the bases.
The Rangers found that line last season. They continue to search for it this season.
Two weeks in, the Rangers lead the American League in outs on the bases with 13 and are second in the majors to Pittsburgh with 16, according to Baseball-reference.com.
Lost outs on the bases are corrosive. They add up and cause damage.
"Making mistakes on the bases can lose you ballgames," manager Jeff Banister said. Base-running is one of those skill sets that when you’re really good at it and have a team that is good at it, it’s a difference-maker.
