Fraley: How the sudden blackout of the Rangers' offense continued Monday against the Yankees

ARLINGTON - If five runs scored and a .164 team batting average in a four-game stretch qualifies as a slump, the Rangers are there.

The sudden blackout of the Rangers’ offense continued on Monday night with a 3-1 loss to the New York Yankees at Globe Life Park.

They were almost on the wrong end of a no-hitter.

Yankees right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, from the no-hitter breeding grounds of Alvin, Texas, held the Rangers without a hit for six innings. Rookie Nomar Mazara ended the no-hit bid by poking a grounder through the left side of the infield for a lead-off single in the seventh inning.
