Former Ranger Michael Young appreciates Tony Romo's decision to prioritize family over football

ARLINGTON - Tony Romo, 37, about to have a family with three young kids, retired from football Tuesday after spending his entire career in Dallas.

Michael Young can relate.

Young, the Rangers special assistant to the general manager, was the same age and basically in the same situation when he called it quits after the 2013 season. Young split 2013 between Philadelphia and Los Angeles, his only season in the majors when he was not with the Rangers. Though Young had opportunities to extend his career, it would have necessitated being away from his family.

“Tony said something [Tuesday] about being ‘all in’ with the Cowboys,” Young said.
