The Cincinnati Reds and free agent pitcher Nick Martinez have agreed to terms on a deal, per reports. The deal is reportedly 2 years, $26 million with an opt out after the first year.
Martinez, you may recall, is a former Ranger, spending parts of four seasons in the majors with Texas from 2014-17. Martinez then went to Japan and had success there before returning to the United States in 2022. He has pitched for the San Diego Padres the past two seasons, putting up a 3.45 ERA in 216 innings while splitting his time between the rotation and the bullpen.
