ARLINGTON -- The Rangers made another stunning roster move after Friday night's 8-2 loss to the Angels. Neftali Feliz, a former All-Star closer on two pennant-winning Texas teams, has been designated for assignment.
The Rangers have 10 days to trade Feliz or send him to the Minor Leagues on outright waivers. Feliz, with more than three years of experience, could decline the outright assignment and become a free agent.
General manager Jon Daniels, making the announcement after Friday's game, said the Rangers will try to trade Feliz.
"It was a tough call," Daniels said.
