BOSTON - It's not often you credit Miguel Cabrera with helping improve a pitcher's performance, particularly if the pitcher is a Ranger.
There is always a first time for everything.
Detroit's Cabrera lined a double off struggling Rangers reliever Sam Dyson Sunday night, then drew the reliever's ire when he appeared to be signaling to home when Dyson was throwing a changeup. It led to a bit of a staredown between the pitcher and slugger and a wholly different Dyson.
He responded with two consecutive strikeouts on changeups. They were the first strikeouts he'd had in a 47-batter stretch.
