Devin Williams to the Yankees, per reports

MLB Trade Rumors: The New York Yankees are acquiring closer Devin Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for pitcher Nestor Cortes and minor league second baseman Caleb Durbin, per reports.

Williams, 30, is a righthanded closer who is in his final year of arbitration eligibility before hitting the free agent market this winter. He has a 1.89 ERA in 195 innings over 206 appearances since the start of the 2021 season, and took over as the closer for Milwaukee after Josh Hader was traded. Williams was out until the end of July in 2024 due to stress fractures in his back, but put up a 1.
