ARLINGTON -- Former All-Star reliever Neftali Feliz has refused outright assignment and taken his free agency. Feliz, after losing his job as the Rangers' closer early in the season, was designated for assignment a week ago.
He could have stayed with the Rangers by accepting the outright assignment and going to Triple-A Round Rock. He declined to do so.
Entering the week, Nick Williams was searching for his mojo at the plate. The Rangers' No. 7 prospect had just finished a 2-for-25 stretch before reversing course with a 2-for-5 game for Double-A Frisco on Tuesday.
