HOUSTON -- The Rangers played their first one-run game of the season and almost pulled off their first comeback win Friday night. Instead, they were unable to finish it off, and the Astros were able to take advantage of a defensive mistake in the bottom of the eighth for a 3-2 victory at Minute Maid Park.
The Rangers have lost five straight games and are 4-11 on the season. They did not lead Friday and are now 0-10 when the opposing team scores first. In their 11 losses, they have had the lead in four innings.
The score was 2-2 when the Astros' eighth-inning rally started.
