GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Maybe it was time for everyone to go their separate ways, Derek Holland concluded.
He went all the way to the Chicago White Sox.
"A change of scenery has been good so far," Holland said. "I'm very happy. They're letting me be myself, keeping it loose and enjoying the game."
Holland joined the Rangers organization in 2006 and beat the odds. A 25th-round draft choice, he pitched eight seasons with the major league club.
There were good moments: eight shutouts; 8 1/3 scoreless innings against St. Louis in Game 4 of the 2011 World Series; 38 regular-season wins in 2011-13.
