David Carpenter outrighted to Nashville

In a move that was announced yesterday but that I missed, the Texas Rangers announced that relief pitcher David Carpenter had cleared waivers and been assigned outright to AAA Nashville.

Carpenter was in the bullpen for just a brief time, making one appearance, before being designated for assignment on Saturday before Game 1 of the doubleheader against Oakland to make room on the 25 man roster for Joe Palumbo and on the 40 man roster for Phillips Valdez. Palumbo was optioned after his Game 1 start, and Valdez, the 26th man for the doubleheader, was returned to Nashville on Sunday.
