Could Seung Hwan Oh be the Rangers' answer at closer? He has to rediscover his slider first

In three seasons under Jeff Banister, the Rangers have gone through five closers.

Chances are now greater they will go to No. 6 in 2018.

Pending a physical, right-hander Seung Hwan Oh, who served as St. Louis’ closer for much of the last two seasons, will sign a one-year deal with the Rangers, two sources confirmed Tuesday. According to Beyond The Box Score, he will receive a $2.75 million deal with a club option for 2019. The deal reportedly will include performance bonuses.

Oh, who turns 36 in July, has spent only two seasons in the majors, but has more major league closing experience than all the relievers on the Rangers’ 40-man roster combined.
