Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager suffered a fractured hand in Saturday’s game, it was announced. Seager suffered the injury when he was hit by a Ross Detwiler pitch in the bottom of the fifth inning in the Dodgers’ 7-0 win against the Miami Marlins.
Seager will presumably join Cody Bellinger, A.J. Pollock, David Price, Dustin May, and Corey Knebel, among others, on the Dodgers’ injured list. There’s been no timeline for Seager to be out announced, other than manager Dave Roberts saying he will be out “for an extended period of time.”
The Dodgers will presumably deal with the absence of Seager by moving Gavin Lux from second base to shortstop, and they could move Max Muncy from first base to second base in the interim.
