The Texas Rangers have announced that Corey Ragsdale will be on the major league staff for 2020 as the Major League Field Coordinator for the Rangers. Ragsdale is replacing Jayce Tingler, who held that role in 2019 and who has been hired by the San Diego Padres as their new manager.
Ragsdale was the manager for the Down East Wood Ducks in 2019, and was named the Carolina League Manager of the Year after leading the DEWDs to a playoff berth. Ragsdale was originally a 2nd round pick of the New York Mets in 2001, and then signed with the Rangers as a minor league free agent for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
