Connor Sadzeck dealt to Seattle for minor league reliever

Texas Rangers transactions: Connor Sadzeck, designated for assignment by the Rangers last week, has been traded to the Seattle Mariners for minor league reliever Grant Anderson, the team announced this evening. Sadzeck, 27, was out of options, and while he can approach 100 mph on his fastball, his command issues led the Rangers to decide to move on from him rather than try to keep him on the major league roster.

Anderson, 21, was a 21st round pick of the Mariners in 2018 out of McNeese State. The native of Port Arthur, Texas, threw just 13 innings as a pro in 2018, though Scott Lucas mentioned on Twitter that he saw Anderson shut down a few Rangers hitters in a minor league game in Surprise this spring.
