Colon, Plouffe back on Minors deals

Arlington -- The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has re-signed right-handed pitcher Bartolo Colon to a minor league contract. Infielder Trevor Plouffe has also re-signed with the Rangers on a minor league deal. Both players have been assigned to the roster of the Triple-A Round Rock Express.

Colon, 44, was originally signed by Texas to a minor league contract on February 4. He had a 0-1 record and 3.00 ERA (6 ER/18.0 IP) in 5 games/starts for the Rangers this spring, issuing 2 walks with 10 strikeouts before he was released on Friday evening.
