Cody to the i.l., Sborz up

The Texas Rangers have recalled Josh Sborz, the team announced this morning. To make room on the active roster for Sborz, the Rangers have placed Kyle Cody on the 10 day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.

Sborz, acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers this past offseason, is a righthanded reliever who was part of the Rangers Opening Day bullpen. Sborz was optioned to make room on the roster for reliever Joely Rodriguez a little over a week ago. The Rangers wanted an additional arm in the pen after using Kolby Allard and John King for a lot of pitches in the past couple of days, but because Sborz had been optioned less than 15 days ago, he could only be recalled if there was a player who went on the injured list.
