Shin-Soo Choo and the SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization League have agreed to terms on a one year, $2.4 million deal, per reports from Korean media.
Choo, 38, spent the last 7 seasons with the Texas Rangers as a right fielder and designated hitter. The team acquired him to give them on base ability at the top of the lineup, and while Choo generally was productive when he was healthy, he spent much of his time in Texas battling a variety of injuries. One can do a “what if” about Choo not getting hurt in the first week of 2016, an injury which resulted in Nomar Mazara coming up to the majors for what ended up being for good.
