ARLINGTON -- Catcher Robinson Chirinos was scratched from Wednesday's lineup with soreness in his left wrist, an issue that has been bothering him since a three-game series against the Rays in April.
It was the second straight day off for Chirinos, who is 1-for-11 in his last three games. He is available off the bench if needed. The Rangers have Carlos Perez as his backup, but infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa can also catch, if needed.
"There is always concern with a guy with recurring, persistent type of soreness," manager Jeff Banister said.
