The Texas Rangers made history on Monday night during their 15-3 loss against the Oakland A's.
For the first time in club history, the Rangers used two position players as pitchers in the same game.
After falling behind 15-3, manager Jeff Banister brought in outfielder Carlos Tocci to finish out the eighth inning and then another outfielder Ryan Rua to pitch the ninth.
The two became the 13th and 14th Rangers position players, respectively, to ever pitch in a game. They combined for 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief work with one strikeout.
