The Texas Rangers announced that third baseman Adrian Beltre has been activated from the 10-day disabled list, effective for Thursday's game at Safeco Field, batting fourth as the designated hitter.
To make room for Beltre, 1B-OF Ryan Rua has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Beltre has been sidelined since May 14 when he went back on the disabled list after aggravating a left hamstring strain on May 13 at Houston. He was previously on the DL from April 25-May 7 after originally straining his left hamstring on April 24 against Oakland and appeared in just five games between the two DL stints.
