Beltre out indefinitely; Rangers short-handed

"I know he is still pretty sore today," manager Jeff Banister said. "He came in today and got treatment. We'll see where he is at and have the doctor look at him. Right now it's how he feels: he's sore and not available."

That leaves the Rangers short-handed in position players. Ryan Rua started at first base on Wednesday with Joey Gallo moving back to third. With Robinson Chirinos starting at catcher, the only two healthy players on the bench were Jonathan Lucroy and utility infielder Pete Kozma.
