Beltre injured his back trying to break up a double play in Texas' 5-3 win in Thursday's Game 1 and left the game in the third inning. Alberto has been playing third base in his stead and had the game-winning single in Texas' 6-4 victory in 14 innings on Friday night.
"Alberto has always been a shortstop and only played a little third base, but he is a quick learner," Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus said. "To be able to play third base the way he has, it has been huge for us.
