Another member of the Texas Rangers pitching staff will not be returning to the team in 2019.
Right-handed pitcher Austin Bibens-Dirkx has signed a contract with the Uni-President Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League in Taiwan.
He announced the signing on his Instagram account Sunday afternoon along with the news that he and his wife are expecting a child.
After spending more than a decade in the minor leagues, Bibens-Dirkx made his MLB debut with the Rangers in 2017, and became a valuable arm for the Rangers working out of the bullpen and, at times, in the starting over the next two seasons.
