Astros offer Correa 5/$160M, per report

MLB Rumors: Carlos Correa, Houston Astros free agent shortstop, has been offered a five year, $160 million contract to stay with the Astros, according to Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston.

Correa, who just turned 27, is coming off an excellent season, and is generally considered the top free agent in this class. He is likely going to be seeking something at least on par with what Francisco Lindor got from the New York Mets — 10 years, $341M — when Lindor inked an extension in lieu of exploring free agency.

This is not an offer that is likely in the ballpark.
