The area surrounding Globe Life Park is due for an upgrade as the Arlington City Council approved Tuesday a dining and entertainment development project adjacent to the Rangers' home ballpark.
The $200 million project, a result of a public-private partnership between the Rangers and the city of Arlington, will span 100,000 square feet and include a convention hotel at the corner of Randol Mill Road and Nolan Ryan Expressway.
"Commercial development around Globe Life Park in Arlington has been a vision of the Rangers for a number of years," Rangers co-chairman Ray Davis said in a statement.
