SportsDay's Rangers insider Evan Grant will periodically answer questions about the club and baseball during the offseason. If you have questions for Evan, tweet them to him at @Evan_P_Grant. Here are some of the highlights:
Question: What gives the Rangers confidence that $10 million spent on Andrew Cashner will be better served than that money going to Derek Holland?
Evan Grant: Start with the economics. The investment in Cashner represents savings of $500,000 over keeping the status quo with Holland. Between Holland's $1.5 million buyout and Cashner's deal, the Rangers are committed to $11.
