The rash of oblique strains continued its way through the Rangers’ clubhouse. Right-hander Andrew Cashner was placed on the 10-day disabled list before Saturday’s game with a left oblique strain. It’s the same injury that has sidelined pitcher Cole Hamels and similar to A.J. Griffin’s left intercostal strain.
Cashner felt tightness during the second inning against the Astros on Wednesday. His DL stint is retroactive to Thursday.
“I let them know after the game, and over the off day — and then yesterday it didn’t really get any better,” Cashner said. The Rangers are hoping Cashner only misses one or two starts.
