An Eovaldi update, maybe?

Nathan Eovaldi left his start in Game One of Saturday’s doubleheader against the New York Yankees after three innings and 81 pitches.

One would assume that Eovaldi was pulled because, well, he was at 81 pitches after three innings, and that’s a whole lot of pitches in a small amount of innings. It turned out, though, that Eovaldi was pulled because of soreness in his side, and he went back to Arlington yesterday from New York to be evaluated.

According to Jim Bowden, the evaluation by Dr. Keith Meister was that it is “a low grade oblique strain,” and that his next start will be pushed back to this weekend.
