Alert: Rangers' Bartolo Colon takes perfect game into seventh against Astros | Fort Worth Star-Telegram

History alert!

Rangers right-hander Bartolo Colon has retired the first 18 batters he's faced Sunday night and is making a bid at his first-career no-hitter.

Colon, 44, threw a first-pitch strike to the first 17 Astros he faced at Minute Maid Park.

He was ahead 0-2 in the count against 11 of the first 15 batters he faced. He has struck out seven and thrown 76 pitches through six innings.

The Rangers lead 1-0 on a solo homer for Robinson Chirinos. The homer was the only mistake early for Astros' starter Justin Verlander, who retired 18 of the first 20 Rangers he faced.
