Texas Rangers starter A.J. Griffin was lifted from his start today in Detroit with two outs in the third inning due to stiffness in his right shoulder.
Griffin is pitching in the majors this year again after missing the past two seasons recovering from Tommy John surgery. Given his medical history, a d.l. stint would appear to be likely. Either Anthony Ranaudo, who came into the game in relief of Griffin, or Cesar Ramos would likely get a sport start the next time this spot comes up in the rotation, and then Yu Darvish would be a potential option, assuming all goes well with his next rehab start.
