ARLINGTON -- Pitcher Pete Fairbanks, called up from Nashville late Saturday, became the eighth Ranger pitcher to make his MLB debut this season.
Fairbanks did not allow a hit in two innings, striking out the side in the fifth to start his career.
“It’s pretty good. I don’t know how else to describe it,” said Fairbanks, who admitted to talking to himself on the mound. “It’s a cool feeling, a cool experience to be able to have, a cool memory. But you have to keep going from there. It’s just one outing.”
A ninth-round pick out of Missouri in 2015, Fairbanks has increased his velocity after two Tommy John surgeries and missing all of the 2018 season.
