"Nice welcome," Beltre said. "They missed me."
The Rangers did. Beltre was gone two weeks while playing for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic, but had to return quicker than expected when his team was knocked out in the second round.
"It was worth it," Beltre said. "I had fun. It was nice being involved in games like that. I'm back earlier than expected but it was fun."
Beltre was asked how his left calf muscle was.
"I don't know," Beltre said. "I didn't get on base."
Beltre was 1-for-15 in the four games he played in the Classic.
