Rangers star Adrian Beltre's double to center field in the fourth inning Wednesday night against the Dodgers and their starter Kenta Maeda was career hit No. 3,090, passing Ichiro Suzuki for most by a foreign-born player in major league history.
Beltre's 3,090th hit gave him one more than Suzuki, his former Mariners teammate who put his playing career on hold earlier this season. Rod Carew (3,053), who was born in Panama, and Albert Pujols (3,030) of the Dominican Republic are next with most hits by a foreign-born player.
