ARLINGTON, Texas -- Adrian Beltre went into this offseason pretty sure he had played his last game after 21 big league seasons.
"I just waited a little longer than I wanted to," Beltre said, explaining Friday he wanted to make sure he wasn't one of those players who retired and then had desire to get back on the field. "I was waiting for that, but I didn't get it."
While Beltre knows he will miss baseball, the four-time All-Star and five-time Gold Glove third baseman said he is "completely happy" with his decision.
