Adames to the Giants, per reports

Willy Adames and the San Francisco Giants have agreed to terms on a seven year, $182 million deal, per multiple reports.

The 29 year old shortstop was considered to be among the second tier of highly regarded free agents this offseason (Juan Soto is alone in the top tier). Originally signed by the Detroit Tigers, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays along with Drew Smyly in the deal that sent David Price to the Tigers at the 2014 trade deadline. Adames played well for the Rays, but after a slow start in 2021, he was sent to the Milwaukee Brewers in a four player deal that did not work out well for Tampa.
