Right-hander Allen Webster, a top prospect at the beginning of this decade, will try to revive his career this spring with the Texas Rangers.
Webster was released during last season after making 12 starts with the Samsung Lions of the Korea Baseball Organization. The Rangers added Webster early in the off-season, signing him to a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to the major-league spring training.
Webster has had more heralded arrivals with clubs.
In 2012, Webster was a key addition for Boston in a nine-player deal that included having first baseman Adrian Gonzalez and right-hander Josh Beckett go to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
