8-4 - Rangers fumble late, downed 10-6 by Cubs

The Texas Rangers scored six runs but the Chicago Cubs scored ten runs.

You simply can’t waste a four inning, three run effort from Patrick Corbin. That’s practically a perfect game for the shabby veteran lefty making his team and season debut. But that’s what the Rangers did tonight despite exceeding their season-best with six runs and also taking an early 2-0 lead that was wasted.

It’s difficult to feel sorry for them, except maybe for having to play in Chicago in April when they have a perfectly good roofed stadium just sitting around at home, and especially after, for a second night in a row, it was clear that these teams weren’t actually playing baseball but through suffering through a mandatory activity, but the Rangers have had their fair share of late-innings luck in the season’s early goings.
