The Texas Rangers scored ten runs while the New York Yankees scored six runs.
If you’re not going to make the playoffs, and unless the Rangers have another miracle in them it doesn’t appear likely for Texas this year, you might as well take some teams down with you.
New York will likely make the playoffs regardless, but they’re in a dog fight with Baltimore for the AL East crown, having ceded the lead in the division to the O’s last night when Wyatt Langford walked them off.
Therefore, beating the crap out of the Yankees tonight to take the series featured the fun of making a contender wallow in the muck and the mire along with us, if just for an evening.
