The Texas Rangers scored five runs while the Cleveland Guardians scored three runs.
If it took you until nearly 30 games left in the season to realize, I will state the obvious by telling you that the 2024 Rangers don’t score very many runs. And that is especially true early in games.
So it came as a surprise today when they scored nearly their season per-game average with four two-out tallies in the top of the second tonight in the opener against AL Central leading Cleveland.
More back to things as usual, the Rangers only scored one more run all night but that proved to just be a little bit of peace of mind insurance as the Guardians’ peck away was halted after scoring a run apiece in three consecutive innings off Nathan Eovaldi following Texas’ outburst.
