56-65 - Rangers come back from the brink to avoid sweep in Boston

The Texas Rangers scored nine runs but the Boston Red Sox scored seven runs in 10 innings.

Despite scoring four runs entering the ninth inning tonight, the Rangers were holding an almost impressive 0-fer in RISP opportunities and staring down the barrel of a sweep and an embarrassing 1-5 road trip that began with them visiting the White House to be honored for winning the World Series.

The Rangers had 13 tries at a hit that would score a run and got zero. On the 14th try, Wyatt Langford hit a ball ten rows back over the Green Monster to turn a 7-4 game into an eventual tenth inning win for Texas after Langford himself had all but gifted the Red Sox a sweeping victory with a poor throw that allowed the go-ahead run to score in the eighth before Boston continued a rally that looked like it would doom the Rangers.
