The Texas Rangers signaled their intentions on Thursday’s offday that they’d be spending the remainder of the season taking deeper looks at the youngsters. The departures of Asdrubal Cabrera and Tim Federowicz paved the way for the arrival of Scott Heineman, Emmanuel Clase and the returns of Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Jose Trevino.
Heineman and IKF started in CF and 3B respectively and contributed a few hits to the cause. The Rangers do still have veterans, however, and they came up big tonight as Lance Lynn tossed seven innings and struck out 10 while allowing just one first inning run.
