54-69 - John Blake Peck-away theory helps Rangers rally to 8-6 win

A triple play, three home runs by a trio of ascending young hitters, and seven consecutive scoreless innings from the pitching staff. Sounds like a recipe for an easy win, right?

You’d be... mostly correct.

It wasn’t as easy as the feats above would have you believe, as Ariel Jurado allowed six runs in the first two frames before Texas settled into the game.

After getting home runs from Nomar Mazara, Joey Gallo, and Jurickson Profar, a Profar-led triple play to stop the Angels from padding their lead, and then putting together a clutch four-run eighth inning, the Rangers were able to complete a comeback in a game that they pretty much dominated after the first 30 minutes.
