5-2 - Rangers run it back for another 1-0 win over Reds

The Texas Rangers scored a run while the Cincinnati Reds again did not score.

Jack Leiter is throwing strikes with confidence utilizing several different offerings and it’s working out. That’s exciting! After a stellar opening act in Arlington last week, today Leiter shoved by allowing just an Elly De La Cruz double (and who could blame him?) in five innings of work with zero walks and six strikeouts.

Leiter made it through those five innings on just 70 pitches, so he easily could have kept going, but the Rangers appear to still be in the kid glove phase with Leiter — who was also apparently dealing with a blister in the later innings of his outing — and I’m not going to argue with it as long as it’s leading to outings like this from the former Vanderbilt standout.
