The Texas Rangers scored three runs while the Baltimore Orioles scored two runs.
With the nation experiencing its weekly upheaval, and with Adrian Beltre experiencing his day in Cooperstown, it was easy to forget a forgettable Rangers team were playing another baseball game this afternoon.
But play they did and they even made the best of being backburnered today as they held Baltimore at bay from their attempt to sweep the opening series of the second half with a tight victory.
There, again, was not much to speak of from the offense, but they got it done with a bolt out of the blue off the bat of Jonah Heim who hit a two-out, three-run dong to give Texas exactly as many runs as they would need to win and avoid the sweep after Anthony Santander hit his fourth homer of this series, a two-run shot in the eighth.
