The Texas Rangers swept the Detroit Tigers with a 3-1 victory today. Joey Gallo was the story in this one with two long home runs — his first bombs since returning from the IL — but the story of the week was the starting pitching for the Rangers.
- Yesterday, the future 2019 AL Cy Young Award winner Mike Minor allowed the only earned run by a Rangers starter in this series. He also tossed a complete game so he’s probably not torn up about it.
- Today, Ariel Jurado gave the Rangers a career-high seven shutout innings as he allowed six hits, walked one and struck out four Tigers.
