The Texas Rangers plated three runs while the Tampa Bay Rays did not score any runs.
Similar to the opener against the Padres, though minus the two-run home runs provided by Nathaniel Lowe, the Rangers were able to get out in front in this weekend’s series thanks to the pitching staff and defense keeping the Rays at bay.
Texas was able to score all three of the runs scored in this game in the third inning thanks to a couple of clutch two-out hits with RISP Corey Seager and Lowe. The Rays, meanwhile, went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position as tonight’s starter Michael Lorenzen proved to be effectively wild in that he walked a season-high five batters but allowed just one hit.
