The Texas Rangers scored four runs and the Anaheim Angels scored just one run.
The Rangers got good pitching, made nice plays in the field, and produced runs at the plate when given the opportunity as they won their third consecutive baseball game for the first time since winning four in a row at the tail end of June.
Starter Dane Dunning avoided his usual odd inning pitfalls and was able to turn in a 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 3 K line on a robust 79 pitches. Meanwhile, a Texas bullpen trio of the returning Jimmy Herget, Joe Barlow, and Spencer Patton held the Angels hitless and scoreless over the final four innings as they combined to strike out five batters.
